Our Cancer Interest is "Breast Cancer"
Our goal is to understand and mitigate the root causes of the disparate outcomes for women of color in breast health through grass-roots efforts and community engagement. By lending our lived experiences to individuals who may otherwise remain silent allows our unique approach to reveal information that researchers and other organizations may have otherwise overlooked.
Angels Surviving Cancer is a breast cancer survivorship sisterhood whose mission is to enlighten, educate and address the true and everyday obstacles impacting those who have been newly diagnosed. Angels seek to encourage, empower and educate the community of the importance of assisting those who are undergoing treatment and beyond by addressing the entire spectrum of needs through financial, emotional and spiritual support as well as advocacy.
Angels provide those facing cancer with a much-needed sense of control over their situation by assisting them with maintaining their quality of life and developing coping mechanisms while fighting cancer.
Reach over 400 women and families through our CARE program that helps with financial hardship while going through breast cancer treatments.
We have been able to help ladies not only live but have productive living and quality of life through our monthly support group meeting and one on one peer counseling. We have made a impact by bringing more awareness to the importance diet and exercise through our nutritionist collaboration of healthy eating and cooking. We are local houston and surrounding countries. We work in collaboration with organization with education of free or low cost mammogram to decrease breast cancer by being proactive not reactive about their health.
We aim to synchronize and maximize our impact through collaborations with the medical community and other non-profits, to reduce the number of newly diagnosed cases within Houston and neighboring counties. We honorably and humbly serve our community and our SISTERS.
only 10% our operational funds come from grants, sponsorship and membership dues.
